I lost my father, Edward Keane, on 9/11. He worked in WTC 1 as an engineering consultant for Port Authority. This has been a terrible tragedy for all of the families. We had the good fortune of having our entire extended family and friends assembled together on September 8th to celebrate my brother's wedding. We are blessed to have a beautiful memory and that last weekend together.

The first time I had seen the Remembrance Flag, was at Bald Head Island, flying at the Country Club. I was so proud to see such a tribute to our family members. It was especially moving because we were there to celebrate the wedding of a close friend, previously widowed when her late husband, a US Marine, had been killed in a military aircraft accident. There is much joy in knowing that despite life's tragedies, God is still ever present and there are still many good things in life.

I would like to request a Remembrance Flag to honor my Father, a proud American. My husband is in the Navy and stationed at Camp Lejeune. I had spent 14 1/2 years in the Navy, where I had met my husband. I tribute my father for encouraging me to pursue the career in the military which blessed me with a loving family and 4 children. We will always miss "Pop Pop". God Bless our military members who continue to fight for our freedoms.

I was talking with my sister, Cindy, who had written a letter to you having seen the Remembrance Flag at the Bald Head Island Country Club in NC, and her feeling in seeing the flag flown.
I was touched by her story posted for others to read.
I wish to request a Remembrance Flag to honor my father. I'll be participating in the Sail for America activity's September 14 in New York Harbor, sailing aboard the Pride of Baltimore, the ambassador sailing ship of Baltimore, Maryland.
Being a resident of Maryland, and having suffered the loss of my father on 9/11, my wife and I were invited to join the Pride of Baltimore in NY on September 14, 2002. It's my intention to fly the Remembrance Flag from the rigging during the parade of ships.
Thank you for your earnest effort to honor those that gave their ultimate gift to mankind!

Sincerely,
Mark K.
