                                                  Flag Display Will Honor Victims of Attacks

As many as 5,000 commemorative flags will be unfurled Sept. 8-11 at Riverfront Park in Salem Oregon during a four-day salute to the people who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. Two types of commemorative flags will be on display: The Flag of Honor, which has the names of everyone killed in the attacks; and the Flag of Heroes, which has the names of the emergency-services personnel who died that day. The Healing Field will also include a section of U.S. flags that will fly in honor of the U.S. military service members who have died during the past five years in the war against terrorism. The 9-11 Remembrance Flag will also be incorporated in the Healing field. Gwen Loiacono, designer of the 9-11 Remembrance Flag www.911flag.org will be a guest speaker at the special event.
